BITTEN TONGUE

March 23rd & 30th at 8:30pm
D-Lounge
101 East 15th Street
NYC 10003
below the Daryl Roth Theatre
The D-Lounge and One Muse Presents BITTEN TONGUE, a performance collective comprised of New York based poets, scholars, educators, lovers, entrepreneurs, mothers, magicians, gypsies and gladiators. BITTEN TONGUE features Mahogany L. Browne (host of the Nuyorican Poets' Cafe Friday Night Slam), Eboni (Urbana Grand Slam Champion 2008), Falu (Nationally ranked 7th top female poet of 2006) and Aja-Monet (Nuyorican's youngest Grand Slam Champion, 2007).
This 60 minute production highlights issues of self-love, sex, motherhood, friendship and the art of breaking up, using multi-media, song and movement to marry the rich world of poetry to the moving and emotionally charged discipline of theatre. The maintenance of their friendships, spanning over the past 6 years, has allowed a unique opportunity to deliver a raw and beautifully vulnerable showcase of what it is to be human...and woman.
BITTEN TONGUE is sponsored by Dolphin Anti-Rape and AIDS Control Outreach, Kenya. For more information, go to www.dolphinanti-rape.org

Feeder: A Love Story
Written by James Carter
FEEDER: A Love Story follows Jesse, who is a 703-pound Gainer, consuming
20,000 calories per day. Noel is her Feeder. Both share in a world of
passion, love and food. What happens when one partner outgrows the
other?
FEEDER is a trans-disciplinary theatrical event, incorporating live video
from a web camera and computer on stage, viral Internet video blogging
(vloging), and interactive computer terminals for audience to join the
world of the play.
In a unique departure from traditional theatre storytelling, this event is
an exploration of the parallels between media and personal interaction,
creating a highly technological event grounded in a very human story.
